It looks like Tom will have the car ready to race tonight in Fergus Falls. Tom and Brad have been working hard all week to get the manual transmission in and everything looks like a go. Racing starts at 7:30 tonight. Hope to see you all there.

After how things ended on Sunday, Tom will be very busy this week. He is going to try to get his manual transmission put in this week. He has been extremely fortunate this season to make some good friends at the track. Jeff Drake had to borrow Tom’s Manual Transmission a little over a month ago. Since Tom now needs it back and Jeff does have another one ready to go, they are going out to Casselton to work on their cars. Of course Uncle Steve and I both wish we could be there to help, but we have our truck drivin’ jobs making us unavailable. Tom hopes to have the manual transmission in for Friday night for racing in Fergus Falls, but we’ll have to see how it goes. We’ll try to keep everyone up to date.

Tom was looking really good on the track Sunday night until once again the left drive shaft came apart between turns three and four. If you watch the video closely you will see a little puff of smoke come out when it goes. That is actually grease from the shaft when it comes apart. If the video is stopping frequently please pause the video for a minute or two, then continue to play. That hopefully will clear things up.

Tom Finished 3rd in the 4 cylinder class at NCR and got a very nice looking Trophy to show for it.

Here are the heat and feature races for last night.

It was the point championship at NCR for 2010. Tom finished his NCR season coming in 6th in the heat and 6th in the feature. There were 11 cars in the feature and he started dead last. Tom got it going in a hurry working his way to 6th by the time the first caution came out. He couldn’t make up any more ground against the remaining drivers. He just had to hold on to 6th and be happy, which was good enough for him to hold on to 3rd in the overall point standings. Here are some pictures from the night and the videos should be up in a couple hours.

Sorry race fans. We didn’t get to put on any kind of a show tonight. When Tom went out for the heat race his left drive shaft broke before he got to the green flag. We managed to get a spare drive shaft in for the feature but in our rush to get it ready missed tightening the bolt on the ball joint. He went out for the feature and started to accelerate for the green. The torque pulled the spindle off the ball joint and twisted off another drive shaft. And that finished his night. So we’ll try to get it back together again for Friday night at Ada. Friday is the final night for the Ada track and they are having a meet the driver night, so the fans can come down to see the drivers face to face.

Friday ended a little early for the 86t team. Tom ran good in the heat, but around half way through the feature the right front spindle broke making it very difficult to turn. Tom had to pull off and call it a night. He had to work Saturday, so we didn’t get up to Twin Valley till supper time to put his spare spindle together. Which worked out great for us because Connie made a wonderful meatloaf for supper. Thanks for Supper. Anyway, here are the races from Friday.
